Maritzburg United defender Kwanda Mngonyama says he knows what coach Ernst Middendorp expects from him this season.
The towering centre-back has played three matches in the DStv Premiership so far, netting one goal, which was a well-taken header in Maritzburg’s 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at Harry Gwala Stadium.
Mngonyama is now keen to knuckle down and work hard to keep impressing his newly appointed German coach.
“When the coach gives you a chance, you have to grab it, take it. I really appreciate the opportunity, he always wants us to work hard, to push each and every training session,” said Mngonyama.
“So, it’s not a new thing for me, I’ve worked with him before. I know what he expects from me. You can see progress; the self-belief is back. So, we are looking forward to keep on going.”
‘The Team of Choice’ will next be in action on the 15th of December, Tuesday as they travel to Soweto to face Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium.
