Former Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane tells FARPost that he has been receiving endless calls with people enquiring about his whereabouts, but that doesn’t surprise him at all.

The 2015/16 First Division championship winning coach parted ways with Bakgaga in 2018 after a fall out with Chairman Khurishi Mphahlele over disciplinary issues.

The former school teacher has since been away from the limelight that comes with being a coach in the country’s top division and is now coaching in the ABC Motsepe League.

Famous for his post-match ‘football can kill you’ comments, Thobejane says he believes he has made a mark in local football, hence constant interest on what he is up to.

“I have made a mark in my football career and I know what I have said sometimes people take it as a joke but they can see now that it’s real!” said Thobejane.

“Now I can see that everyone who is a soccer lover, coaches and footballers they feel it and they can see it. They really appreciate that Kgoloko once said football can kill you a real death so I am always happy about listening to people in all corners of football saying someone once told us.

“People are talking to me saying we miss you, we miss you and I know what is it that they are missing about me because I am just someone special when it comes to comments. I am not just a copycat, I comment about what I see in football, practically so. Not talking about formations, no that one is a basic of football,” he said.

“Football is an emotional sport so it goes with our conscious or maybe it’s about the passion that someone is having, it’s about the passion. It’s from the heart so that’s that,” added Thobejane.

He is currently in the books of Mpumalanga side Passion FC who campaign in the second division but has expressed his desire to return to PSL football if an opportunity arises.
