South African winger Gift Links has set his targets for the remainder of the 2020/21 Danish Superliga season.
Links has had a blistering start to the 2020-21 season with AGF Aarhus.
The former Cape Town City attacker has netted three goals and assisted another two goals in 10 league appearances for Aarhus who currently sit in fourth position on the Superliga table with 25 points from 14 games.
Aarhus got back into action on Tuesday night and drew 0-0 away at Vejle BK.
Prior to the resumption of the league after the break, Links has scored two goals in three friendly games, this includes goals against Copenhagen and Brondby which can only augur well for him considering that those are the biggest clubs in Denmark.
The 22-year-old caught up with FARPost before Aarhus travelled to Vejle for their first game in 2021 after a long winter break in Scandinavia.
“Obviously the aim is continuing to score and assist as much as I can, and the most important thing is to try and finish as high as possible in the league. We’ve been doing good and we still have a Cup quarter-final to play so we’re just going to take one game at a time and see what happens.
“You know the break is needed and I don’t think it affected us because when we came back everyone was on top of their game. You could tell with the friendly games we played against other teams, the likes of FC Copenhagen and Brondby IF.
“So the league resumed again on Tuesday and we’re just going to go out there and give it our all like we always do.”
There has been some confusion about which position the Platinum Stars product is best suited – he also clarified that dilemma.
“I think I like playing in both wings, I can play anywhere up front in fact so yeah as long as it’s up front I’m 100% good.”
