Ola Aina has grown into his role at Fulham since joining the Premier League club on loan from Torino.
The versatile 24-year-old defender has been played in several roles since his arrival at Craven Cottage and he has no intention of slowing down as he aims to help Fulham in their fight against relegation.
Aina was on target for the Lilywhites as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley. A win at Turf Moor would have helped the London club move up the table, but they remain six points away from safety.
The former Chelsea youngster is predominantly a right back, but has found his home as a right-sided centre back since the Cottagers moved to a back five formation.
He is looking to learn something from the Premier League’s prominent players in his new role. Speaking to Fulham’s YouTube channel, the Nigerian defender said he is eager to learn and grow his game in one of the world’s toughest leagues.
“You could learn from everyone you know, I am not the type of person where I feel like I am the finished model or I’m better than someone.
“I feel like I can always learn off people. Harry Maguire, he’s a top professional and he’s an England senior player, he’s really a good defender.
“You can learn from everyone across the league and he’s one of them.”
The centre back didn’t stop there and admits that he has been keeping an eye on Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk too. The Reds defender (Van Dijk) is currently out and recovering from an Achilles injury.
“It’s sort of a little dream come true for me to be back in the Premier League just playing and in London as well.
“Across the Premier League there’s a lot of good defenders, obviously you’ve got Virgil van Dijk there as well and there are some good youngsters as well, some that are younger than me, you could still learn off them as well.”
Aina has featured in 20 Premier League games this season scoring twice and assisting one more goal for the Cottagers.
