Newly signed AmaZulu striker Augustine Mulenga has clarified the confusion around him being unveiled by two DStv Premiership clubs as their new signing in a space of five days.
Mulenga was unveiled by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila president Masala Mulaudzi last week Thursday as one of their new acquisitions.
But it turns out the Limpopo side jumped the gun by announcing the player before a deal was sealed.
The Zambian international has since confirmed that he was in contact with TTM, but nothing was concluded.
“About TTM, I don’t know what to say because I was also surprised about hearing that they mentioned my name when they announced their new signings,” Mulenga told journalists on Monday.
“But for me as I am here, I am so happy to be here at AmaZulu. I want to thank my family for helping me to make this decision because it was not easy to choose AmaZulu because there were a lot of teams that were looking for me,” he said.
Mulenga reveals that he told TTM, who were one of the clubs after his signature that he needed time to make his decision.
“Yes they did (approach him), but by that time I told them that first I need time to think about it and I didn’t talk to them about anything, rather than that,” clarified Mulenga.
This publication can confirm that the former Orlando Pirates striker was sent a contract which was already signed by the TTM officials, but needed his signature to conclude the deal, but the player had second thoughts on that move.
