If you lose a game the League is gone – Mosimane

For Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane, any slip up at this stage, in all competitions, could see Holy Grail slither from their grasp.

“We are in a challenge where every match we have to play from now, we have to win because if you don’t win in the Nedbank Cup, you are out of the cup, if you don’t win tonight, you are out of the League.

“If you don’t beat Al Ahly, you are out of the Champions League. We are all nervous and edgy,” said Mosimane after guiding Sundowns to a 2-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday night.

The win elevated Sundowns to second place, where they now sit with 41 points. Log leaders Kaizer Chiefs are four points ahead of the ‘Brazilians’.

“We are in a position that you can’t lose a game. If you lose a game, it’s finished, and the League is gone. You have to keep it alive and I hope everybody keeps it alive. Let the League be exciting and let’s all sit on the edge of our seats. Let’s see what happens,” said Mosimane.

The focus will shift to the Nedbank Cup, where Sundowns will entertain SAB League side Vaal University of Technology at home on Sunday. Kickoff at 15:00
