Kelechi Iheanacho has won another award at Leicester City.
Leicester officially announced that the Nigerian has won the club’s Goal of the Month award for March.
He netted a beautiful goal against Burnley at the King Power Stadium to help the former champions salvage a crucial draw.
Iheanacho won the award ahead of Ayoze Perez, Youri Tielemans, Kasey McAteer, Shannon O’Brien, Esmee De Graaf and Sam Tierney who had also been nominated for the award.
This announcement comes just a day after the forward was shortlisted for the Fans’ English Premier League Player of the Month award alongside the likes of Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jesse Lingard (West Ham United), Luke Shaw (Manchester United) and Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal).
He has 12 goals registered to his name in 26 appearances in all competitions this season.
Nigeria national team coach Gernot Rohr also called the forward to his recent Super Eagles squad and gave him his first start in almost two years.
For a player who was on the fringes at Leicester two years ago, Iheanacho has turned his fortunes at the King Power Stadium and Rodgers will hope the forward will continue scoring goals as the Foxes push for a top four finish in the league. They currently sit in third spot on the table with 56 points from 30 games.
