Banyana Banyana midfielder Refiloe Jane has expressed her delight after signing a new deal with AC Milan.
Jane has signed a one-year extension with the Rossoneri which will keep her at the club until June 2022.
She has made 47 Serie A appearances since her arrival at the club in 2019. The dynamic midfielder has scored three league goals and assisted a further three strikes for last season’s league runners-up.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Jane said she is very pleased to be staying at Milan and looking forward to a good season.
“I feel very honoured and very excited for the renewal of my contract.
“I’m getting one more season with AC Milan so far it’s been a fruitful journey, not only for myself, but for the team and I can’t wait to see what lays ahead of us in the coming season.
“From the past season we learnt that we need to take each game as it comes and the most important thing is to get results in each and every game especially at the beginning of the season because how you start plays a big role in how you finish the season.”
Milan finished in second place in the league behind giants Juventus which guaranteed them Uefa Champions League football. They also reached the final of the Italian Cup, but lost to AS Roma – Jane said they are aiming to do better in the 2021/22 campaign.
“As a team, there are dreams and objectives that we put forward in each season and this season it won’t be any different.
“We achieved some of the goals that we set for ourselves in the previous season and in the upcoming season, we will play to achieve the goals we didn’t achieve.
“But we’re going to take it as it comes and not going to put pressure on ourselves by looking ahead instead of looking at the present moment.”
