Newly signed Baroka defender Chelsyn Jampies insists the move to the Limpopo side was never about reviving his career but more of a chance to be seen again.
Jampies is part of the new arrivals at ‘Bakgaga’ as they look to beef up their squad ahead of the DStv Premiership season.
The former Santos, Jomo Cosmos, Bloemfontein Celtic, Richards Bay and Uthongathi player is hopeful that this could be a season where the fortunes change for the better for Bakgaga.
“If we want to say revive I think that’s an unfair reflection of what has been happening in my life,” Jampies told FARPost.
“The move to Limpopo was not based on reviving, it was more of giving myself a chance to be seen again. All grace to God I am thankful for the chance and I am here to fight for titles and Cups. Like I said the signings that we have made at the moment, the Chairman, the coaches are all on board. They all believe that this is the season Baroka can turn the table.
“For all those that have been loyal to the Jampies brand I want to say thank you guys that stuck around also still believed in me. Also to The Baroka family, I am more than happy to be here, I am more than happy to die and fight for the badge in front and I am ready to give 100% all the time.
“I want them to be patient with the team as they know that the club has released a few players and with that comes the new faces again. So this is the process that we are building now at the moment at Baroka and we guarantee them that we will also give more than 150% in every match.”
The 30-year-old has joined on a three-year contract.
