Born in the city of Amsterdam in 1997 to a South African father and American mother, Manchester city centre back Philippe Sandler has made some serious progress overseas.
The tall defender statues his youth career with Ajax Amsterdam before moving to PEC Zwolle playing 30 games for them until 2017.
In 2018 Manchester city coach Pep Guardiola came calling and he signed a long-term deal with the ‘Citizens’.
The 23-year-old went on loan to Belgian side Anderlecht last season, but now will be hoping to return to his parent club and fight for his place in the team.
Sandler qualifies to play for South Africa, America and Netherlands with his father being South African and his mother American, but the defender is yet to represent any of these countries at senior international level.
