Maritzburg United head coach Eric Tinkler has described the 2-1 defeat by Baroka on Sunday afternoon as embarrassing, poor and below average.
Goals from Ethen Sampson and Tshediso Patjie was enough to see Bakgaga grab only their second win at home this season while the Team of Choice scored their goal through Judas Moseamedi.
Tinkler was left unimpressed with his team’s performance which saw them lose for the first time in 6 games.
“I look at this game with a bit of embarrassment to be brutally honest, we were below average really. In the first half it was a really poor performance overall for us today you know,” Tinkler told reporters after the match.
The 49-year-old also feels there is inconsistency amongst his players.
“Consistency, it’s simple – consistency and complacency. You got to show consistency and you cannot show complacency because in this League it will kill you and we didn’t show that hunger and desire to go and win the game,” said Tinkler.
Maritzburg will host Cape Town City on Friday, January 31 at Harry Gwala Stadium in their next match.
