Its business as usual in Burundi


While all football associations in the African continent have decided to suspend or cancel their League programmes in the wake of COVID-19, it has been business as usual in Burundi.

The 16 clubs Burundi Premier League in the East African country is carrying on as usual.

Burundi has a population of 10 million and have a reported 3 Coronavirus Cases so far with no deaths.

The last round of fixture was played on Sunday, April with the next fixtures coming up on Saturday 11 April.

Le Messager FC are the current log leaders with a 4 point gap and three matches remaining.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) does not have a directive in terms of what associations decide with their League programmes and by the look of things it seem the League in Burundi will carry on until the last day on Saturday, 25 April.

In Europe, the Belarusian Premier League is the only active championship.

Belarus have 700 COVID-19 cases with 13 deaths while 53 people have recovered.
