Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has praised his teammates for the fine run that has seen them beat giants Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester City in the English Premier League.
“For us to achieve nine points from our recent games against Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal gives us real confidence and belief that we can do the same against any other team,” Iwobi told the club’s website.
Everton have been in top form and currently sit on fourth place after a blistering start to the season. The Toffees, under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti, have won eight, drew twice and lost four times. They trail log leaders by five points.
“I’m happy with my contribution and to be creating chances. It was a great feeling coming back against my old club but it’s all about the team performance,” the Super Eagles star added.
The 24-year-old has been crucial for the Toffees this season playing different positions as a wing-back and midfielder. He has made 13 appearances this season and provided two assists.
Ancelotti’s Everton shift attention to Carabao Cup as they face Manchester United in Wednesday’s quarter-final game.
The tie promises fireworks and 2000 fans will be cheering on the stands as per government restriction due to Covid-19.
