South African midfield maestro Refiloe Jane has made history this afternoon in Italy by becoming the first ever South African female footballer to score in Serie A.
The Banyana Banyana scored the second goal for AC Milan against rivals AS Roma in Milan’s 3-2 victory in the league.
Jane was already in the history book by becoming the first female South African footballer to sign for a Serie A side and now the midfielder has made history yet again scoring her first goal for the club in the hard fought win for the Serie A log leaders.
Jane has played in every game for AC Milan so far this season with most of the team’s game plan centered around her.
She is the bridge between defence and attack for the club. The coaches have not hidden their admiration for her throughout her first six months with the Rossenori even comparing her to Milan great Genaro Gattuso.
