Nigeria international Joe Aribo’s fine performance for Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers has thrilled the club’s coach Steven Gerrard.
Rangers beat St. Johnstone 3-0 in a Scottish Premiership fixture.
Rangers have been in consistent form as Wednesday’s win followed another 3-1 victory over Motherwell.
The Super Eagles star, who has struggled with injuries, played the full game assisting Glen Kamara for his side’s second goal, while getting involved Ianis Hagi’s strike.
“I thought Aribo really flexed his muscles and showed he’s back. He’s had a real tough start to the season with a big injury, probably the first of his career and then a bit of an illness which held him back,” Gerrard told club website.
“He’s gone through the gears in the last three or four weeks and he looks close to being back to his best which is really pleasing,” he continued.
Aribo has four goals and two assists in 18 appearances across all tournaments for the 54-time Scottish League Champions winners this season.
The 24-year-old will be hoping to be involved and continue with his blistering form when the Gers welcome Hibernian to the Ibrox Stadium on Boxing Day.
Rangers are enjoying a fantastic season as they find themselves top of the Scottish Premiership with 53 points from 19 games, 16 points above second placed Celtic.
