After his loan at FC Zurich from Italian side Empoli finished and he was released by Empoli at the end of last season Joel Untersee became a free agent.
The right back returned home to Switzerland to seek for a new club and since June he has been training with Swiss top flight side FC Lugano to keep fit, but it seems he might have impressed the technical team who have expressed interest in signing him.
“I’ve been with the club for a few weeks now and we’re currently working on a deal for me to stay here permanently so we’ll see what happens,” said Untersee.
For the next few weeks the Benoni-born right back will have to work very hard to earn a permanent deal with the club and get back playing regular football after a year of being without a club.
