Black Leopards coach Cavin Johnson has explained his decision to put star player Lesedi Kapinga on the bench for the most part of their 1-all draw against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
Kapinga only came in on the 74th minute leaving supporters questioning Johnson’s decision.
But the coach has since explained the reasoning behind the decision.
“Kapinga? Yeah they always say different horses for different courses and today we needed a lot more fight in the middle and we were able to contain them and when we did bring Kapinga on he almost created a magical opportunity,” he told reporters.
Midfielder Mogakolodi Ngele was also having a game of his life before he was taken out with a hamstring injury in the 30th minute.
“It’s sad when things like that happen to quality players that you know from a long time and it happens to you. We are going to have to go back and make sure we try get him to his best as quick as possible otherwise we have to get one of the other players to come and fill for him.”
Leopards will face Cape Town City away in their next League match on Friday, January 24.
