Italian giants Juventus are considering making an offer for Barcelona striker Luis Suárez amid reports he could be forced out of Camp Nou this transfer window, reports 90min.com.
Suárez signed for Barcelona in the summer of 2014 after an astonishing 31-goal season at Liverpool. The Uruguayan settled in brilliantly at Camp Nou, and has since scored 198 goals for the Catalan giants in all competitions.
However, at 33 years of age, Suárez’s best days are behind him, and new boss Ronald Koeman has reportedly told the striker that he has no future at Barcelona.
While former club Ajax and even Leicester have been linked with a move for Suárez, Juventus are also interested in making a move for the forward.
Ahead of the departure of Gonzalo Higuain, the Serie A champions are on the hunt for another striker, and Suárez is likely the biggest name attainable that’s on the market.
However, the age of the Bianconeri squad is a concern for new head coach Andrea Pirlo, with six of last season’s seven top appearance makers being on the wrong side of 30.
They have reportedly already had an offer turned down for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez – a deal which included former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey heading in the other direction.
As for Barcelona, the sale of Suarez would be part of a huge shake up at Camp Nou. Lionel Messi appears to be on his way after dropping a bombshell on the world of football by handing in a transfer request, and long-serving defender Gerard Pique is also rumoured to be heading towards the exit door.
Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for Inter’s Lautaro Martinez, although no progress has been made regarding a deal.
