Zambia Super League side Kabwe Warriors have sent coach Levy Chabala on administrative leave with immediate effect.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the club decided to send Chabala on leave to try and improve the performance of the team.
CEO Charles Chakatazya confirmed the development to the Warriors media team.
“The decision to send Mr. Chabala on leave was made by the Kabwe Warriors executive committee to improve the performance of the team,” said Chakatazya.
“We wish the new coach all the best and we have confidence that he will steer the team to the rightful position the team deserves,”
Former Lusaka Dynamos assistant coach Ian Bakala will take over as head coach on an interim basis.
Kabwe Warriors have only managed one win in their last six games and sit in 7th place with 35 points just seven points adrift of the relegation zone but just two points adrift of the top four places.
