SuperSport United’s MTN8 winning coach Kaitano Tembo has thanked the previous coaches he worked with at the club for his success.
After last year’s disappointing loss to Cape Town City in the MTN8 decider, Tembo’s charges bounced back to win 1-0 in this year’s final against Highlands Park at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
“I’ve worked with a lot of coaches and throughout, when I was an assistant coach, I always made sure that I support whoever was the coach, and I learnt as much as I could,” said Tembo, who also played and was captain of SuperSport.
“I’ve worked with Gavin Hunt, Gordon Igesund, Pitso Mosimane and Stuart Baxter.
“And I believe in having mentors that (I can learn from),” he said.
Tembo continued: “I can call Stuart anytime (for help)… I can speak to Gavin anytime regarding players. I can speak to coach Pitso. I can speak to coach Gordon, because there’s that trust that was build all these years.
“I also thank them, because I wouldn’t be where I am today,” Tembo added.
