Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League side Lekwa City FC have secured the services of Kondowe Kasongo as the club’s new head coach.

Kasongo replaces Phumlani Sihle Thwala, who stepped down from his duties a week ago.

“We have appointed Bonnie Kondowe Kasongo to lead the Second Phase of Syabakokoda Project as the head coach,” said the club in a statement.

The 46-year-old played for Umtata Bush Bucks in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) almost 20 years ago. He also had his fair share of play for Blackburn Rovers FC in the National First Division (NFD).

Kasongo comes in with plenty of experience, having coached Bohlabelo Bush Buck Ridge, Eastern Cape Ihbury, Matitiele Professionals, Tornado FC, Ireland FC and served as an analyst for ArconBush United FC and Mangaung United FC.

The newly appointed City mentor will be expected to steer the club to the GladAfrica Championship at the end of the 2020/21 ABC Motsepe League campaign.
