What’s next for Keagan Dolly? It’s the question on everyone’s lips after his contract with Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier expired in June.
Well, on Monday evening, FARPost sources spotted Keagan Dolly at Melrose Arch, Johannesburg, where Kaizer Chiefs are housing some of their new recruits such as Njabulo Ngcobo and Austin Dube.
Dolly, who spent four years at French Ligue 1 club Montpellier, has been linked with a number of clubs including Chiefs and Al Ahly.
It seems like the new Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter is eager to bring Dolly on board.
The 28-year-old was hampered by several injuries during his time in France, which prevented him from fulfilling his full potential overseas. He made 64 appearances, scoring once and provided three assists across all competitions for the club.
Baxter is very fond of the Bafana Bafana winger and looks to strengthen his squad for the new season.
Dolly was part of the deadly CBD unit at Mamelodi Sundowns with Leonardo Castro and Khama Billiat.
The trio were arguably the most feared in the Premiership during the 2015/16 season as they combined for 25 league goals helping Sundowns clinch the league title. They also the fired club to the 2016 Caf Champions League crown.
Castro and Billiat have since joined Chiefs and it appears to be seen if Dolly will be reunited with his former partners in crime.
The rebirth of the CBD is on the cards!!
The signing of the Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town man would possibly be one of the biggest transfers of the 2021/22 window with his arrival in Soweto set to indicate Chiefs’ ambitions to have quality players in their squad and attempt to end their six-year trophy drought.
