Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele insists he is happy with the job done by head coach Dylan Kerr since his arrival and the latter looks certain to keep his job beyond the current season.
Kerr arrived at ‘Bakgaga’ at the end of last year on a three-and-a-half-year deal to take over from Wedson Nyirenda .
He has secured four wins out of seven with three loses in all competitions and that’s a record better than his predecessor Wedson Nyirenda who won 1, drew 2 and lost 4 in his first 7 matches in charge this season.
The record has pleased the Baroka boss who concedes that there is no reason to even discuss Kerr’s position at the moment.
“If you can give me his stats, what does his stats tell you? His stats are better than the previous coach (Wedson Nyirenda),” said Mphahlele.
“So currently he is standing a good chance of continuing with the job because he has a couple of wins and the team is displaying better football now. We beat our rivals (Black Leopards and Polokwane City) twice and everybody is happy.
Kerr has also helped Baroka qualify for their third Nedbank Cup semi-final and are set to meet Bloemfontein Celtic post the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am happy, the supporters are happy, the people of the province are happy so he is doing a good job,” stated Mphahlele.
Kerr still faces a huge task ahead to try and save the club from relegation with six matches remaining.
That will not be an easy task and the Limpopo side still have to play against Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu, Chippa United and Kaizer Chiefs.
