Baroka coach Dylan Kerr has lashed out at striker Richard Mbulu for what he calls bad attitude following his red card in their 1-0 defeat to Bidvest Wits on Saturday.
The Malawian international came in as a second half substitute during the match but was shown the marching orders 23 minutes later for a dangerous tackle on Wits player Dean Hotto.
The 26-year-old has struggled to make a good impression since joining at the beginning of the season and Kerr believes the striker needs to change his attitude starting at the training ground.
“At the end he has a red card I don’t get to use him in the next 2 games you know it’s stupid,” Kerr said after the match.
“That’s why I pick my team I see that in training that negative attitude, you can’t play people that are not happy whether is confidence or whether it is not being played I don’t know.
“Mbulu has got pace but sometimes when you watch players at training you are looking if they are coming with a smile you know a bit of buzz in them but Mbulu comes with his head down and you can’t go into a game if you are not feeling right mentally in practice,” he said.
The striker has failed to score a single goal in the 21 matches that he has played since the beginning of the season.
