It was a weekend of mixed results for Mzansi’s stars abroad with Liam Jordan scoring his first league goal of the season for Helsingor in Denmark while Khanya Leshabela made his Leicester City debut in England.

SPHEPHELO SITHOLE & THIBANG PHETE

SAD Belenenses returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win against SC Farense in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Saturday.

Thibang Phete started and got substituted after 68 minutes for his compatriot Sithole as the Lisbon side took all three points back home on Saturday.

LUTHER SINGH

The Stars of Africa graduate lasted 79 minutes for Pacos Ferreira as they lost 2-0 against FC Porto in the league on Sunday evening.

Ferreira held their own until the 77th minute when Porto netted two quick goals in two minutes.

KOBAMELO KODISANG

Kodisang played yet another 90 minutes in Braga B’s 0-0 stalemate against Cerveira in the Campeonato de Portugal.

JERMAINE SEOPOSENWE

Seoposenwe played the whole game, but couldn’t help SC Braga avoid a 4-1 home loss against Famalicao.

The loss dented Braga’s title chase while Famalicao is still on course for their first piece of silverware this season.

THABO CELE

Cele lasted the entire game as Cova di Piedade drew 1-1 with Leixoes in the Portuguese Segunda Liga on Saturday evening.

LIAM JORDAN

It was joy for Jordan as he netted his first league goal in the colours of his new club in Denmark.

The South African youth international netted in the 87th minute as Helsingor defeated Hvidovre 2-0 in the 1st Division encounter on Friday evening.

KHANYA LESHABELA

The 21-year-old finally made his long-awaited debut for Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

He was introduced in the 81st minute of the game as Leicester cruised to a 5-0 win against Sheffield United.

KURT ABRAHAMS 

Abrahams played 73 minutes for KV Westerlo and they narrowly lost 1-0 against SK Lommel in the Belgian second tier.

THEMBI KGATLANA & NOKO MATLOU

Both South Africans started with Thembi Kgatlana reaching double digits for the season after scoring Eibar’s only goal in their 3-1 loss against Madrid CFF on Sunday.

LINDA MOTLHALO

The regular season in Sweden returned to action this past weekend with the Swedish Cup and Linda Motlhalo continued where she left off last season.

The Banyana Banyana midfielder scored as Djurgaden DFF thumped IK Uppsala 4-0.

DARREN SMITH

Smith got off the mark in fine style for FC Honka.

The 24-year-old found the back of the net twice as Honka defeated VPS 4-0 in a Cup game.

SIYANDA XULU

Xulu lasted the whole game for Hapoel Tel Aviv, but couldn’t help them avoid a 1-0 loss to Bnei Sakhnin in the Israel Premier League on Friday evening.

ROWAN HUMAN

Human played another solid 90 minutes in the middle of the park as Beitar Tel Aviv drew 0-0 with Nes Tziona in the Israel second tier.
