Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela insists his issues with Black Leopards coach Luc Eymael is the thing of the past and he has long gone past it.
Prior to Eymael’s return to South Africa in September, Komphela was making pleas to local football bosses not to hire the Belgian.
Komphela reasoned that Eymael is very disrespectful and undermines people.
Komphela’s comments were triggered by what was perceived to be an unusual manner of looking for jobs in South Africa by giving clubs ultimatums to employ him or lose out.
The two had never crossed paths since the verbal war and will finally face each other when Black Leopards host Arrows at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday at 18:00.
Komphela has since played down the conflict but insists he remains cautious.
“We don’t hold grudges, we move on but we are quite cautious of the terrain. You better move on but you must open your eyes and ears to see everything. That one is got dead rubber – I don’t even respond to that,” he said.
Abafana Bes’thende will head into the clash at Thohoyandou on the back of a 1-0 win over Baroka in midweek, while Lidoda Duvha were humbled 3-0 by Chippa United on Wednesday night.
