Golden Arrows head coach Steve Komphela has sent a special message to Kaizer Chiefs and the chairman Kaizer Motaung as the club celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Komphela represented Amakhosi back in 1993 where he made 34 league appearances before making a switch to Europe.
The 52-year-old made his return at the club 22 years later following his appointment as Chiefs head coach in 2015 and the man had nothing but great things to say about the chairman and the club.
“I think one the big thing we have to look at it’s a black institution and it’s highly successful, we should celebrate black excellence,” said the former Bloemfontein Celtic coach.
“Kaizer Motaung and the founders at Kaizer Chiefs must be commanded and also the supporters at Chiefs who have created this culture and all the previous players who have helped this team to be where they at,”added komphela.
It’s a great achievement , now hoping that we can learn that even a black person has the ability to start from nowhere and build one hell of a company like that , so we happy for them and we wish them the very best, “concluded the Golden Valley Farm born coach.
Many Kaizer Chiefs supporters won’t remember Komphela’s tenure at the club as a memorable one but such words will show that the club is still very much close to his heart.
