Konqobe wary over Maritzburg clash

Chippa United midfielder Ayabulela Konqobe says getting maximum points against Maritzburg United is very crucial for his side given the position they are on in the DStv Premiership.

The Chilli Boys will take on Maritzburg on Saturday, 3 April in a league clash at Harry Gwala Stadium.

The game will start at 17:00 in the evening.

Dan Malesela’s side will be hoping to stretch their unbeaten run to three games, having played to a 2-2 draw with Swallows FC in their last game.

Meanwhile, the Team of Choice would like to continue where they left off before the Fifa international break when they thrashed TS Galaxy 2-0 away from home.

“I think it is going to be another tough game. Obviously, we know Maritzburg have been doing well at their home ground and just lost only a couple of games,” Konqobe told the media.

“But I also believe that as a team we have been well focused on ourselves, working together and pushing very hard. However, like I said it won’t be easy going there.”

Chippa and the Blue Army are now level on points in the log standings with 17 points, only goal difference separates both sides as they are placed 13th and 14th respectively.

“We need results and everyone at the camp knows what we have to do,” added the 25-year-old footballer.

“We have been working a lot on our weakness and three points is the only thing we are going for. At this moment a point is the last thing we can put at the back of our minds.”
