Krepin Diatta has completed a move from Club Brugge to AS Monaco in France.

The French Ligue 1 club has completed the signing of the Senegal winger on a five-year-deal from the Belgian giants.

Monaco announced the arrival of the 21-year-old who has been on the rise in Europe since bursting into the scene with Norwegian side Sarpsborg in 2017.

Diatta impressed scouts when he went to the 2017 U20 World Cup in Korea with Senegal. Since joining Brugge back in January 2018, he played 72 Belgian Pro League games and scored 18 goals as he won a few accolades at the club including two league titles and a Belgian Super Cup in the three years he spent there.

The attacker arrives with much-needed experience at Stade Louis II as he has featured in 15 Uefa Champions League games, three Europa League games and is a fully fledged international having gone to a few youth international tournaments and one senior AFCON with Senegal in 2019.

His arrival is a big boost for Niko Kovac’s side as they push to get back to European football and challenge for the League title. Monaco currently sits in fourth position in Ligue 1, six points behind leaders PSG.

After putting pen to paper, the speedy attacker expressed his joy at signing for such a big club and hopes he is able to help the team achieve all the goals set out for the remainder of the season.

“I am very happy to get involved with AS Monaco and to have the opportunity to progress in a recognized and ambitious club in the French championship whose history everyone knows.

“I look forward to discovering this new environment and working hard with my new teammates to give the club back the confidence it has placed in me.”

Brugge will miss the dynamism of the forward who had scored nine goals this season and assisted another two strikes in 19 league appearances for the club. The defending champions are on course to defend their title as they currently lead the Pro League with 48 points from 22 games.
