Kudus advises Kamaldeen Sulemana to join Ajax

Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus has advised Kamaldeen Sulemana to join Ajax Amsterdam.

Sulemana has been a subject of transfer speculation in recent weeks with Manchester United, Olympique Lyon, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen all reportedly keen on signing him.

He joined FC Nordsjaelland on a five-year deal at the beginning of 2020. He has made a total of 42 appearances in all competitions for the club scoring 14 goals and assisting a further 12 strikes.

Speaking to ESPN, Kudus said he believes moving to the Eredivisie will be the best decision for the 19-year-old who has a big decision to make about his future.

“He is a fast, agile and a smart winger. He has everything. He will fit in well with our playing style, especially as a fast winger. He can score and give assists. I think he is a perfect player for Ajax.

“He’s in the national team, so of course I’m going to see him. But at the end of the day, in making decisions, it comes down to your own self and your own guts.

“I can advise him based on my own experiences and what I have seen here (at Ajax), but at the end of the day, he’s a smart kid and knows what he wants. I think he’s going to make the right decision.”

Kudus had a fairytale season with Ajax where he has won the Eredivisie title and Dutch Cup in his first campaign with the Lancers.

On the other hand, Sulemana is also having a strong finish to the Superliga campaign. On Wednesday, he provided an assist to help his club to a 2-1 home win against Randers FC.

The pair was developed together at the Right to Dream academy and later played together at Nordsjaelland. This is something Kudus feels will make things easy for Sulemana.

“Of course I am here now and I’m going to help him.

“The step from Denmark to Manchester United is very big. He has the talent to play at every level. But I think the step from Denmark to here (Ajax) will be an even nicer one in my opinion. But I believe whichever one he takes, he has the capability and the talent to show it.”
