Maritzburg United have confirmed that midfielder Mxolisi Kunene has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
Kunene suffered a knee injury during the 3-2 win against Black Leopards on Sunday.
Maritzburg assistant coach Vincent Kobola has confirmed that the 28-year-old will not be part of the squad, starting with the Absa Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday.
“The boys are looking good, we only have one injury of (Mxolisi) Kunene who twisted his knee against Black Leopards,” said Kobola.
“We are just waiting for the results from the scan and see how bad is Kunene’s injury, but other guys are injury free and they are looking good at training for this game and we want to go there and win.” he said.
Kunene has been a vital member of the Maritzburg side this season, making 20 League appearances with two goals.
