AmaZulu coach Jozef Vukusic has insisted that Usuthu are not underdogs ahead of their crucial clash against bitter rivals Maritzburg United.

The KwaZulu Natal derby takes centre stage at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban.

Kick off is at 15:30.

” I don’t think we go in as underdogs, we play a team that is 2 points above us on the log so I think it’s an equal game,” said the Slovakian.

“It’s our home ground and it might play a role, but you must use it to your advantage then it’s okay,” he said.

“It’s a Derby, so a Derby is a Derby there are no favourites and it’s an open game,” continued the former Polokwane City coach.

“What is good for people is that it will be a fight from the first till the last minute,” added Vukusic.

AmaZulu have suffered back-to-back defeats in the Absa Premiership in a space of 3 weeks, losing 2-0 against Chippa United before the international break.

Another defeat came against PSL reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who won 1-0.
