Bafana Bafana are on the backfoot in their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign following their 2-0 defeat to Ghana on Thursday.
But striker Lebogang Mothiba has insisted that they cannot afford to have a negative mindset heading into Sunday’s encounter against Sudan at Orlando Stadium (3pm).
“We don’t have pressure – we don’t have pressure,” insisted the France-based attacker, who plays for Strasbourg.
“We must just play our football, because we know how to play and the coach also is doing a great job at training, and analysing videos,” he said.
“So we are doing a great job and we just have to continue to stay focused and forget about the game against Ghana.
“I have confidence that we are going to do it (win),” stated Mothiba.
The reality, however, is that Bafana cannot afford another slip up, but the 23-year-old remained adamant that there’s no pressure on the team.
“If we are under pressure and go play the game under pressure, we are not going to do well, because we would be thinking about what people are saying and that’s not good,” he added.
