Late last year former Orlando Pirates and Malawi national team midfielder Joseph Kamwendo announced his retirement from professional football and now he is organising his farewell match in Malawi.

The talented left winger told FARPost that his former teammates at Pirates will honour him with a game at the Chiwembe Stadium in Blantyre later in February.

Kamwendo said that his former captain Lucky Lekgwathi will lead the former Pirates players who will include amongst others Sibusiso Zuma and Joseph Makhanya.

“Yes, Lucky will be coming here to play here in Malawi, and he will be the captain for my former teammates from Pirates. I will also have my other former Flames teammates like Peter Mponda, Swadick Sanudi and others.

This match will mean a lot to me to share the field once more with my former teammates and remember those good times in the dressing room,” said Kamwendo.
