Lekwa City owners contemplate selling the club


Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League outfit Lekwa City FC have confirmed that the club’s board is close to putting the side up for sale.

This comes as the team is experiencing difficulties finding a suitable training ground within their locality.

Lekwa survived the chop on the last day of the Provincial ABC Motsepe League fixtures after defeating Benfica FC 2-1. The club finished in the seventh position of Stream A with 11 points.

The club official statement

Siyabakokoda Project is stagnating and experiencing difficulties due to the unavailability of suitable training ground within our locality.

Having tried all available options like Standerton correctional services but declined due to security measures, schools declined due to covid 19 related issues, and Sakhile stadium demanding huge maintenance cost due to damaged water systems etc.

Due to the above-mentioned realities, the board is contemplating putting the status of the club on sale.
