Black Leopards could find themselves officially relegated from the DStv Premiership if today’s results go against them.
Three of the bottom four clubs are in action this afternoon while Lidoda Duvha are only back in action next week Wednesday against Kaizer Chiefs.
A win for Chippa United against Bloemfontein Celtic, Stellenbosch against Swallows, and at least a draw for Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila against Baroka would mean Leopards go down to the GladAfrica Championship with three matches remaining.
But co-coach Morgan Shivambu remains hopeful that anything can still happen in their favour in these last matches.
“It’s not easy for us not playing while the other teams who are down there are playing. It would have been better if we were playing at the same time because if they win today it doesn’t put us in the right position but we just cross our fingers,” said Shivambu.
“This is football anything can happen. There are still three games to play so we will just focus on preparing for our game against Chiefs.
“If two of these three teams don’t get maximum points then we are still in it. So we will pray because you can’t forget about prayer, though we are praying for someone to lose but that’s what we have to do,” said Shivambu.
“The spirit amongst the team has been amazing. The boys are responding very well, if you were someone who didn’t know that we are facing relegation you would think we are number one because of how the players are behaving. They don’t sulk or show that we are down there. They are always giving their best so everyone is looking sharp,” he concluded.
