Black Leopards have moved quickly to rubbish the rumours that their Chairman David Thidiela has passed on.

Rumours surfaced on social media platforms since Friday last week that Thidiela has perished, a few days after the death of his wife Mphodo Dorothea Ramunenyiwa-Thidiela.

But in a statement released on Monday, the club pleaded with those that are spreading the rumour to refrain from doing so.

“Black Leopards FC management have noted with disgrace fake news circulating on social media about the passing of our Chairman, David Thidiela,” read the statement.

“The Chairman is mourning the passing of his wife Mphodo Dorothea Ramunenyiwa-Thidiela with his family and for individuals to go out and instigate, spread fake news is quite disturbing.

“The club and the family will not tolerate such careless and irresponsible actions for whatever reasons and would like to urge anyone to not share or spread such rumours,” they said.

Meanwhile, the funeral of Mrs Thidiela will take place on Thursday, 14 January at Mbaleni cemetery, Thohoyandou in Limpopo.
