Relegation candidates Black Leopards will meet SuperSport United on Tuesday night at FNB Stadium, in an important Absa Premiership clash with a bit of confidence following their two back-to-back crucial wins.
‘Lidoda Duvha’ beat Maritzburg United 3-2 in their first match following the resumption of football and followed it up with a hard fought 2-1 win over Golden Arrows.
When the league was suspended in March, Leopards were rooted at the bottom of the table.
But two games into the restart, they are top of the post-lockdown league table.
“Winning two games in a row is a motivation because we had not done it throughout the normal season,” said Interim coach Morgan Shivambu.
“So I think the results will help the guys fight more for the next match against SuperSport so I believe we will pull it through I the next game as well.” he said.
In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Leopards have met in 17 league matches since 2001/02. ‘Matsatsantsa’ have claimed eight wins compared to four for Lidoda Duvha, while five games have been drawn.
The Limpopo side has claimed three wins from their eight home matches in the rivalry, suffering three defeats in the process.
