Black Leopards have confirmed their new signings for the 2020/21 PSL season.
Lidoda Duvha unveiled the 11 new additions at the club with the inclusion of MDC graduate Tiklas Thutlwa at an event held in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
Club CEO Moudy Mudzielwana says the new players were recruited in line with the club’s needs after a poor season in 2019/20.
The confirmed arrivals at the club so far are: Wiseman Maluleke, Tebogo Makobela, Roderick Kabwe, Onyedikachi Ononogbu, Tebogo Sodi, Sibusiso Khumalo, Roggert Nyundu, Tsepo Matsimbi, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Ntlakuso Rikhotso.
“The biggest thing that you would understand about our Chairman (David Thidiela) is that he is very passionate about football,” said Mudzielwana.
“He (Thidiela) likes listening to people and obviously we have been listening to fans. So when you look at what was going on last season, we conceded the most goals and we wanted to improve the backline with the experience and youth.
“And then you look at the midfield, we have always been an attacking team. You look at the young players and how they were playing and also we looked the some of the experienced players that we had to keep,” he said.
“Going forward the coach did indicate that he needs a tall player who can hold the ball so we gave him Nyundu because he is our former player. So we looked at what the coach wants and what we have in the country,” added Mudzielwana.
Leopards have also announced mining and logistics company Yethembe Group as their new main sponsor.
