Cape Town City would be relieved to have got maximum points against one of the Absa Premiership title contenders, Bidvest Wits.
While the Citizens have been battling for form all season, the Clever Boys have – as they have done for the past few seasons, showed they can’t be ruled out in the title race, especially because they have games in hand.
Gavin Hunt’s men are fourth with 30 points from 15 matches.
Kaizer Chiefs lead the standings with 42 points, which is 12 points ahead of Wits, but the latter have 3 games in hand.
A 2-0 win for City at Cape Town Stadium moved them to 12th spot with 20 points from 19 matches – a huge morale booster, especially against a team of Wits’s calibre.
Kermit Erasmus and Craig Martin netted for the home side.
