As the race for Limpopo ABC Motsepe League Nedbank Cup Semi-finals and Final reached its fever pitch, Ngwaabe City Motors were the big winners of the day as they are one step away to seal their Nedbank Cup last 32 spot.
The remaining three games were all scheduled for Thursday the 10th of December 2020, the first of which saw Mighty FC crush Mikhado FC 2-0 in the semi-finals at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The second semi-final game was a tense affair and could have gone either way before the in-form Ngwaabe City Motors snatched a 1-0 slender win against the newly promoted Terrors FC.
Mighty and Ngwaabe City Motors cruised their way into the finals, an encounter deemed as a do-or-die because of the raised intensity amongst the two teams.
Things were looking very interesting in the first half, as City Motors showed dominance and broke the deadlock. But an unfazed Mighty bounced back a few minutes later to level matters.
Undoubtedly, it was a humdinger of an encounter as both sides played to a 2-all draw in regulation time. Ngwaabe City Motors from Sekhukhune region walked away victorious after defeating Mighty 4-3 on penalties.
Ngwaabe City Motors as the winners of the Limpopo ABC League Nedbank Cup Preliminary Knockout Games, will have to wait for the SAB Regional league winners and battle it out in order to qualify for the Nedbank Cup last 32.
