Liverpool arrive for Club World Cup

European Champions Liverpool have touched down in Qatar ahead of their 2019 FIFA Club World Cup semi-final clash against North America Champions Monterrey on Wednesday.

Dejan Lovren is not included in the squad after sustaining a muscle injury against Salzburg, but Georginio Wijnaldum does travel following his withdrawal in the second half of the win over Watford.

The Reds will use 2 different teams in 2 days as they play a League Cup quarterfinal clash against Aston Villa on Tuesday night, 24 hours before the Club World Cup 5440 kilometers away.

The team for the International Tournament which started last week Wednesday and ends on Saturday 21 December is as follows: Alisson, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Mane, Salah, Gomez, Adrian, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Lonergan, Shaqiri, Robertson, Origi, Jones, Alexander-Arnold, Williams.

Meanwhile, African Champions Esperance of Tunisia started their campaign with a 1-0 defeat in the quarterfinal by Asian Champions Al Hilal on Saturday.

Esperance will play a fifth place playoff match against the host club Al-Sadd on Tuesday at 16:30.
