Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta insists that Romelu Lukaku is not for sale following several interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.
Lukaku helped the Nerazzurri to clinch the Serie A title last season, having found the back of the net on 24 occasions in 36 games.
“From our side, we can, yes absolutely, Lukaku is not for sale. Lukaku is an important piece on the chessboard available to Simone Inzaghi,” Marotta told Sportmediaset prior to their friendly match against Pergolettese.
Chelsea and Manchester City are the clubs that have been mostly linked with the Belgian international in this summer transfer window.
Inter are in a difficult financial situation and will need to sell players this summer, with even the sale of Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month only going some way to alleviating their concerns.
However, this has given them some breathing space with regard to their top players and it gives them greater muscle to keep their most prolific goal poacher.
