As FARPost reported earlier this month that Lyle Foster’s Cercle Brugge needed to win 4 out of their remaining 6 games of the regular season in Belgium to stand a chance of avoiding relegation to the Proximus League next season and amazingly the club has already won three games in a row ahead the Bruges Derby against Club Brugge on Saturday.
Cercle first won a five-goal thriller against Jupiler League new boys KV Mechelen at home before defeating Sint-Truiden 1-0 away from home.
Last weekend Cercle continued with their new resurgence with a 1-0 win away at Royal Excel Mouscron which took them closer to safety with three games remaining.
Now with three games remaining in the season Lyle Foster will hope to play a role in helping the club getting the desired results to survive the axe.
A win and one draw in the last three games would certainly guarantee their stay amongst Belgium’s elite clubs but should they not do so well the results of the other clubs who are also fighting relegation will determine which club goes to the second tier League as only one club gets relegated per season from the Jupiler League.
