Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa says he felt honoured to hear Benni McCarthy praising him.
The Cape Town City mentor said recently that Mabasa reminded him of his heydays, when he used to rattle the net with ease.
“To get such praise from him really means a lot,” Mabasa said.
“He’s a club legend and South Africa legend. We always looks up to him and it is something special for me to get such praise from him not only being Cape Town City coach, but for him to be a legend from Orlando Pirates and he won the (Uefa) Champions League (with Porto) really means a lot”.
The 23-year-old already has four goals for the Soweto giants this season.
Mabasa added: I’ve been working hard on scoring goals to help the club win games and it is something that I always wanted to do to come here at the club to score goals” said Mabasa, who was with Bloemfontein Celtic.
