Mabunda gets second bite of the cherry at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that Tiyani Mabunda will stay on at the club in a new role.

After a successful eight-year spell as a player, Mabunda will now continue being part of Sundowns as the club Ambassador.

The Tshwane giants parted ways with Mabunda as a player earlier this week and his new role as the ambassador at the club suggests that the hard-tackling midfielder’s playing days are behind him.

The 33-year-old joined Sundowns in 2013 from Black Leopards and was part of the squad that won the Caf Champions League in 2016. He cinched a total of eight trophies with the ‘Brazilians’.
