Chippa United are assessing former Bidvest Wits attacker Phakamani Mahlambi with the hope of giving the player a contract.
Mahlambi started training with Chippa United on Sunday morning after a poor spell at AmaZulu last season.
The 23-year-old soared under Gavin Hunt at Bidvest Wits and will be hoping to rekindle the performance he produced few seasons ago.
Hunt told FARPost that the speedy forward is training with Chippa and he is looking to sign him.
“Yes he is here with us, I hope so (to sign Mahlambi),” said Hunt.
Mahlambi has not reached his potential ever since he returned to the Dstv Premiership, with Mamelodi Sundowns after a stint with Al Ahly.
His loan move from to AmaZulu didn’t work out as he saw limited game time and the technical team was not impressed with his work rate.
With the Gqeberha-based side assembling a new team, Mahlambi might just find his footing and resurrect his football career.
