Riyad Mahrez has been shortlisted for another award in Europe.
After producing a Man of the Match perfomance against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening, the Algerian star has been nominated for the Champions League Player of the Week accolade.
Mahrez scored a brace to help Pep Guardiola’s side defeat the Parisians 2-0 on the night and 4-1 on aggregate having already won 2-1 in the first leg at the Parc de Prince Stadium.
He faces competition from his teammate Ruben Dias and Chelsea duo N’golo Kante and Kai Havertz.
Kante was a standout performer for the Blues as they defeated Real Madrid 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to progress to the final 3-1 on aggregate – the World Cup winner won the Man of the Match award in both legs.
Havertz was also instrumental for Thomas Tuchel’s side as they marched on to the final for the first time since winning the competition back in 2012.
The winner will be announced later this week after the fans vote.
Chelsea and Manchester City will face each other in the final on the 29th, but before then, they will square-off in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
City need three points to win the Premier league title for the third time in four seasons.
