Makhaula wins big in AmaZulu awards


Makhehleni Makhaula and Veli Mothwa were the biggest winners in the AmaZulu end of the season awards, which were announced on Thursday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The duo were solid and consistent for Usuthu in the 2020/21 Dstv Premiership season.

Makhaula walked away with the Most dedicated player of the season, Player’s player of the season and Chairman’s award.

Mothwa, who led Bafana Bafana to Cosafa Cup triumph walked away with the Golden gloves award for his 11 clean sheets and Player of the season.

Other players who were recognized for their excellence are Thapelo Xoki who received most improved player for his performance in the previous campaign.

Lehlohonolo Majoro walked away with top goal scorer award after scoring nine goals in the previous campaign.

Siyethemba Sithebe received Usuthu Most Spirited award, while Augustine Mulenga received best playmaker of the season.

Lindani Shange and Lindokuhle Zungu were honored as MDC player of the season and MDC top goal scorer respectively.
