Football administrator Richard Makhoba has confirmed his resignation from GladAfrica Championship side, Royal Eagles.
FARPost.co.za got wind of the latest developments this morning.
Eagles are rooted at the bottom of the standings with three points from five matches so far in the 2019/2020 campaign.
“The story is true. I have resigned from the club with immediate effect from yesterday. I wish the club all the best and life has to go on,” Makhoba commented.
He wasn’t keen on delving into matters that led him to quit and walk away.
“I want to remain as professional as I could possibly do. I’m not going to be… look, there is no bad blood.
“I spoke to the chairman (Sbu Mpisane) this morning and I sent him a message. We are okay,”=” added Makhoba, whoalso previously worked for Richards Bay and United FC.
Eagles, meanwhile, are battling to find their wings this season.
They came close to winning automatic promotion last term, but settled for second spot behind eventual winners, Stellenbosch.
Eagles also failed to make it through the PSL Promotion PlayOffs that were won by Maritzburg United.
It doesn’t help their cause that the much publicised divorce between Sbu and Shauwn Mpisane has led to a breakaway by the latter, who’s now in charge of another GladAfrica Championship side, Real Kings.
